In-Person, Outdoor Services during the fall of 2020

We welcome you to join us for in-person worship services at 10:15 a.m. on Sunday mornings this fall. We will follow CDC, state, and local guidelines, and have listed important details below. The service will be shorter and simpler than usual. Any changes in this plan will be announced as we remain flexible and responsive to CDC and local health guidelines. We respect each person’s personal choice about gathering or staying away from gatherings, and urge grace and patience for all.

  • Please stay home if you are not feeling well or have any symptoms of COVID-19. We also encourage those who are high risk to stay home at this time.
  • Worship will start at 10:15 a.m. with the goal of ending by 11 a.m.
  • A video recording of the service will be uploaded to YouTube and linked in our church website for those who choose not to attend. View past services here.
  • We are requiring face coverings for everyone, three years and older, who attends, out of our concern and love for our neighbors. We will have extra masks available if you forget yours.
  • Please bring your own chair and beverage (if desired). We will be meeting under the pavilion and surrounding shade trees with household units sitting together but six feet apart from other individuals or family units. A few spots will be available for those who wish to stay in their vehicle.
  • Ushers will be available to help with seating and other logistics.
  • We will not have any printed materials. You may print the bulletin at home and bring it along if you wish or use an electronic device to view it during the service. Please bring your Bible or use an electronic device to follow along with the sermon scripture.
  • No offering baskets will be passed in the service. A stationary offering basket will be available on Sunday mornings, and offerings can continue to be mailed to the church during the week.
  • We will not be singing audibly, but are encouraging musical creativity such as humming, instrumental music, and meditation.
  • We will continue to have a Children’s Time every Sunday, but we will not be calling the children forward.
  • We will cancel the service if there is a threat of rain. An email notice will be sent out by 8 a.m. and a video of the service will be uploaded later in the day.
  • The bathrooms in the pavilion will be open and hand sanitizer will be available. We ask that you use sanitizer before and after using the bathroom in addition to washing your hands for 20 seconds.
  • No childcare will be provided however, the playground will be available during and following the service.
  • The church building will be closed which includes the nursery and the library. Library books and grocery cards can be obtained on a self-serve basis during the week or by speaking with a member of the Library Committee; if prearranged ahead of time, library books and grocery cards can be picked up outside on a table Sunday morning.
  • No current mail is being placed in our church mailboxes to reduce the need to enter the church building.
  • Physical contact with others is discouraged (handshakes and hugs). Instead, creative, distanced, non-physical greetings are encouraged.
  • When meeting together publicly for the foreseeable future, our practice of Communion on the first Sunday of the month will be observed “spiritually” without physically partaking of the bread and the cup. More information will be provided at the service.
  • Anyone who contracts COVID-19 and was at an in-person church activity must report it to the church office immediately after diagnosis.
  • Names of everyone present will be recorded for contact tracing purposes if an outbreak should occur.
