In-Person Services during the fall and winter of 2020-21

We welcome you to join us for in-person worship services at 10:15 a.m. on Sunday mornings this winter. We will follow CDC, state, and local guidelines, and have listed important details below. The services will be shorter and simpler than usual. Any changes in this plan will be announced as we remain flexible and responsive to the latest recommendations. We respect each person’s personal choice about gathering or staying away from gatherings, and urge grace and patience for all.

  • Please stay home and enjoy the worship online:
    • If you feel sick.
    • If you are running a fever.
    • If you have a compromised immune system.
    • If you’ve visited a state on the PA quarantine list in the last 2 weeks.
    • If you’ve been in contact in the last two weeks with someone who has tested positive for Coronavirus.
    • If you cannot or will not wear a mask.
  • Worship will start at 10:15 a.m. with the goal of ending by 11 a.m.
  • We are requiring face coverings for everyone, three years and older, who attends, out of our concern and love for our neighbors. We will have extra masks available if you forget yours.
  • The outside door will be opened by an usher using safe distancing and the sanctuary doors will be open for a reduction in surface contact. We may check your temperature with a contactless thermometer.
  • The exhaust fans in the ceiling of the auditorium will be in use to allow for a constant flow of fresh air into the worship space and the back doors of the sanctuary will remain open to increase airflow. Please do no gather in doorways.
  • The benches will be labeled for seating with appropriate spacing. Please keep your jacket with you.
  • We will not have any printed materials. You may print the bulletin at home and bring it along if you wish or use an electronic device to view it during the service. Hymnals and pew Bibles will be available.
  • No offering baskets will be passed in the service. A stationary offering basket will be available on Sunday mornings, and offerings can continue to be mailed to the church during the week.
  • Humming and gentle singing is welcomed along with the use of hymnbooks. Music will be projected and included in the service for those at home to participate.
  • We will continue to have a Children’s Time every Sunday, but we will not be calling the children forward.
  • No childcare will be provided. We welcome children to be present in the service and rejoice to hear their noise.
  • At the end of the service ushers will dismiss the congregation from the back of the auditorium to the front. Please wait in your seats to be dismissed. Socializing and conversation should happen outside.
  •  Library books and grocery cards can be obtained on a self-serve basis after the service
  • Physical contact with others is discouraged (handshakes and hugs). Instead, creative, distanced, non-physical greetings are encouraged.
  • Anyone who contracts COVID-19 and was at an in-person church activity must report it to the church office immediately after diagnosis.
  • Names of everyone present will be recorded for contact tracing purposes if an outbreak should occur.
  • A video recording of the service will be uploaded to YouTube and linked in our church website for those who choose not to attend. View past services here.
